Jambo Blast - Aug 23 Watumull Students Upcountry

Dear Friends of Watumull Children’s Education,

We are back in Nairobi, Kenya!  The third and final term of the Kenyan school year starts this Monday, August 26.

Today we want to show you some of our scholarship students not in the actual city of Nairobi.

This is Zare Primary School nestled in Taita Hills.  We took the 6 hour drive down Mombasa Road to visit our 21 students in this rural area.

The school buildings are very old, built in 1957.  The children walk miles to school, encountering wildlife on the way.  They live on the boundaries of Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, so it is not unusual for them to run into an elephant or two on the way to school.

These children come from homes that cannot spare tuition fees, so without our support , none of these 21 children would be attending school.  Watumull Children also purchases uniforms and shoes for them.

We brought new notebooks for them when we visited and such a small gift brought huge smiles!  These smiles are for you!  What a privilege to provide this educational opportunity for these deserving children!  Thank you for caring!

       Xoxo Chitra and Scot+
