Jambo Blast - April 2026 - A Safe Space for our precious girls

My dear Donors,

        Your generosity to our Watumull scholars is extraordinary, and we are grateful for every one of you lovely people!  Nevertheless, we are asking for your support for a new project.

This is Michelle, recently orphaned when both parents died from AIDS.  Her only living relative is a young single mom who is her aunt.  This aunt earns money going to others’ homes and washing their clothes.  Michelle goes home to an empty, foodless iron sheet dwelling because her Aunty is out working.  This is an extremely dangerous situation for a small first grader.

I am carrying Tabitha, whose single mom died at her birth.  She was left with her Shosho ( grandmother) who is old and sickly.  She is only five, and needs food and care.

We are creating a Girl’s Safe Space at Destiny School to house these very vulnerable girls.  They will need a kind and loving house mom, clothes, bedding, toiletries, tuition, food….Yes, it’s a big ask, but these girls are precious!!!
